  • Agricultural Irrigation Scheduling Calculator (Opens in a new Window)

    The Agricultural Irrigation Scheduling Calculator uses evapotranspiration (ET) data from Farmwest to advise producers on irrigation scheduling. Users specify soil type, irrigation system design, location, and crop type and receive tailored irrigation advice as output. Data is presented graphically and is available for download in report form.

    Agriculture Water Demand Model (Opens in a new Window)

    The Agriculture Water Demand Model (AWDM) calculates current water requirements for agriculture using crop, soil, irrigation system type, and historical climate data, as well as future water requirements using projected climate change scenarios. The climate data layer has been developed for the entire Province of BC on 500 metre by 500 metre grid cells. The water demand results help municipalities to develop dedicated agriculture water that the Water Sustainability Act (WSA) supports. The BC Ministry of Agriculture has continued to collaborate with partners to expand the AWDM to other regions of the province, with complete coverage expected by 2021.     Air Quality Monitoring: Unverified Hourly Air Quality and Meteorological Data (Opens in a new Window)

    The Unverified Air Quality Monitoring dataset contains unverified historical raw hourly air pollutant concentrations and meteorological data recorded at monitoring stations across BC. These datasets contain the latest month of raw hourly readings from air quality monitoring stations across BC up to the latest hour in Pacific Standard Time (PST). Data are available for download in tabular format. These data are not quality-assured.

    Air Quality Monitoring: Verified Hourly Data (Opens in a new Window)

    The Verified Air Quality Monitoring dataset contains verified hourly air pollutant concentrations and meteorological data prepared and published annually by the BC Ministry of Environment. These datasets contain quality-assured point measurements from air quality monitoring stations across B.C., from 1980 up to the end of 2016.

    Archive Automated Snow Weather Station Data (Opens in a new Window)

    The Archived Automated Snow Weather Stations (ASWS) dataset includes historical hourly snow water equivalent, snow depth, air temperature, and precipitation for all ASWS stations in BC from 2011 to 2016, as well as historical daily maximum and minimum air temperature, precipitation, snow depth, and snow water equivalent for all stations in BC from date of installation to 2011. Data are available for download in tabular format.

    The BC Air Data Archive provides access to historical data from ambient air quality and meteorological stations across BC, including Metro Vancouver's coverage of the lower mainland. Specific variables include pollutant concentrations, temperature, humidity, wind speed & direction, and atmospheric pressure. Data are available for download in graphical or tabular forms, and in 1, 3, 4, 6, 12, or 24 hour averages over daily, weekly, or monthly summary periods.

    Climate indicators for BC Census Subdivisions (Opens in a new Window)

    The Climate Indicators for BC Census Subdivisions dataset contains historically observed temperature and precipitation data for specific reference points within each of BC's census subdivisions for the period of 1981 to 2010.     Farmwest (Opens in a new Window)

    Farmwest.com is a website launched in 2001 to provide weather and climate information as well as a number of decision-support tools to the agricultural sector. Farmwest is linked to 397 weather stations across Canada from federal, provincial, municipal and private weather station networks. Data includes temperature, precipitation, growing degree days, pest degree days, T-Sum calculator, and seasonal weather forecasts. Data are searchable by station and time period, and are available graphically.

    GeoWeb Water Portal (Opens in a new Window)

    The GeoWeb Water Portal interactive map displays historical and current water quantity, quality, and climate data for stations across BC for the period of 1886 to 2018. Specific measures include temperature, precipitation, snow depth, water quality, depth to groundwater, and others. Data are available in graphical format for each monitoring station.
